About Ink magazine

Ink magazine and inkkc.com are Kansas City’s premier lifestyle and entertainment publication and website for young professionals. Owned by The Kansas City Star, Ink is one of KC’s largest weekly publications. It is Kansas City’s most comprehensive source for music information and coverage. Focusing on what’s new in the area’s musical landscape, Ink tells the stories behind the music with cover stories on emerging artists, regular band features and the area’s most expansive weekly guide to concerts and shows.

About The Record Machine

The Record Machine is a homegrown, pioneering independent record label based in Kansas City, MO. The label was originally established to promote and release music from Kansas City, but, as time went on, they began releasing records from all across the country. Their goal is to work with a diverse group of musicians who are hardworking, dedicated, and stand-out on their own accord. Over the last 14 years they have released an eclectic mix of music; and are proud that it doesn’t fit into any single genre and that there is a unifying, uplifting quality to the releases.  They aim to nurture those musicians and connect them with a wider audience. Tim Finn of The Kansas City Star remarked about The Record Machine’s output “[They] have assembled a stable of diverse artists who are making music that deserves national attention.”

*Middle of the Map Film Fest and Ideas will return later this year.
